Spread the playa dust

An interesting set up in the middle of the playa for the Burning Man event. Two runways were in place for 2016, one used for landing, one for take off. Be careful when taxiing - since the playa dust gets sent everywhere! Had fun landing a C310 here!

J-3 Flying

Back in 1991 I flew out of this air strip in one of my friend's J-3's, I recall using the roundabout to line find the runway.

Gliding with the Air Cadets

When I was an RAF Air Cadet I attended a week long course here, flying the Grob 103 (Viking) glider, being aero-towed by a Robin DR400 (with a four blade prop for quite operations).

Air Cadet Camp

Back in 1987 I attended an Air Cadet camp here at RAF Brawdy. Got to fly in a Seaking from 202 Squadron B flight. Great times!

Great for both airline (passenger) and general aviation - we

Back in 1999 I was traveling to Australia for business. I managed to spend some time visiting Cairns. I flew up from Sydney on a 747-SP, walked down the jet stairs on to the apron - cool! Then later on in the week I rented a C172, VH-WHK, along with an instructor to fly up the coastline sight seeing. Amazing! I also was amazed to see an HF radio in this C172 - but this made sense, since you are often in the outback. Great times - I hope it is still the same or better.
