The FAA disagrees with you

The FAA says the airport is at 35-28-00.2860N / 091-58-00.5290W, which is exactly where the marker is shown on this map.

Lat/long

Click "For Pilots", and then "General". Latitude and Longitude are under there.

re: Airport is Closed

I tried to close it, but there's a bug in the interface code.

Picture of ptomblin

Don't see it, but...

It's still in the FAA database.

Picture of ptomblin

FAA says it's closed

FAA data marked it as closed 2014-07-29

Picture of ptomblin

Re: ZNA location

I verified the latitude and longitude against the WAS (Water Aerodrome Supplement) and they have 49.18333N,123.95W.

Picture of ptomblin

KQSA

KQSA is probably the ICAO code for a US-run weather station at OAIX. I've seen similar records in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Picture of ptomblin

Duplicate

There appears to be two Bamberge-Breitenau airports, EDQA and ZCD. They should be merged.

Picture of ptomblin

True airport?

It has international standard runway markings and pretty real-looking hangars. Why would you think it's not a "true airport"? Not every airport has commercial traffic.

Picture of ptomblin

Close it

@Bill35's location is only 0.74 nautical miles from my location. Still doesn't look like an airport.

Picture of ptomblin

Maybe?

It's still in my Eurocontrol/EAD data dump, although the location is slightly different. It still doesn't look like much of an airport on Google Earth, though.

Picture of ptomblin

Re: location

Location fixed.

Picture of ptomblin

re: Raytheon Heliport does not exist

The FAA still shows the heliport as active. They also show the location as "Estimated", so it's likely to be in those office buildings nearby. But this wouldn't be the first time nobody bothered to notify them when a private airport/heliport went away.

re: closed?

Reply to @dmomper: It appears so.

Picture of ptomblin

re: re: closed?

Reply to @dmomper: It's data that the CoPilot app for iPhone pays for which I'm not allowed to share with the rest of the world except through the iPhone app. I'd love to give a full dump to this site, but I'll have to settle for just manually verifying things people say in the comments.

Picture of ptomblin

re: closed?

Reply to @dmomper: It was in EAD data up until 2015-06-29 with ICAO code 'MMPO", but now it's gone.

Picture of ptomblin

re: pula

According to Wikipedia, it's still used by the Romanian Aeroclub. However it's not in the latest Eurocontrol data dump (although it was in the previous one), so maybe it is closed now?

Picture of ptomblin

re: Error in naming

Fixed now.

re: Confirmation?

Reply to @Crimson_Dej: This is the location the FAA has for the heliport.

re: ASSALAMOALIKUM !

Reply to @MUSTAFA: It's just google maps, you idiot.

re: Who is he?

Probably this guy:

Not sure why somebody though this website was an appropriate place to rant about his union membership or lack thereof, though.

Picture of ptomblin

re: I think the code is wrong. This is KPOV

Reply to @Randallksparks: You are correct. Updated.

Picture of ptomblin

Merge it

This airport should be deleted or merged with the other VNTJ. Eurocontrol says the name is "Taplejung".

Picture of ptomblin

re: Ishigaki Airport was moved.

Reply to @Hayato: Somebody should create the new airport here. I don't have pilot information, but I do have the new name is "New Ishigaki Airport" and the location is 24.396389, 124.245. Elevation is 93ft. Same ICAO id as the old one.

Picture of ptomblin

re: closed !

Closed since 1976 according to Wikipedia.

Picture of ptomblin

Duplicates

I've tried to close all the others. They should really be removed.

Picture of ptomblin

re: Location

Better now?

Picture of ptomblin

re: Baie-Johan-Beetz is now in Quebec :)

Reply to @RaymondR: Doesn't appear in the Water Aerodrome Supplement either.

re: LHBP CORRECT SPELLING

Fixed.

re: re: ScammScammm

1. "How do I get my money back": You don't.

2. "How do I stop these people from doing this to another person": You don't.

They are lawless people in a lawless country. You have no recourse.

Picture of ptomblin

Coordinates

I moved the airport to where my Eurocontrol data says it should be, at 8.489667N, 9.5255W, but that didn't look like an airport either, so I dragged the marker down to something that looks like a runway.

Picture of ptomblin

re: Leopoldsburg

Reply to @Jan_Olieslagers: Eurocontrol refers to it as "Leopoldsburg/Beverlo", although some websites refer to it as "Aeroclub Sanicole VZW". I don't know what to call it.

Picture of ptomblin

Re: Where is it?

You're right, even the official data from Eurocontrol (who generally only publish data that they get from official agencies) puts it at 4.44 N, 8.25 W which is still out in the ocean.

Picture of ptomblin

Two names.

Weirdly, the AIP calls this Aerodrome Brive Souillac, but the official website calls it Aeroport de Brive Vallee de la Dordogne.

Picture of ptomblin

Note to the person who keeps spamming their ads here

As long as you keep spamming, I'm going to keep deleting your comments. Give it up.

Picture of ptomblin

Interesting article

http://www.airlinereporter.com/2014/02/the-boneyard-of-the-east - this is evidently one of the few airliner salvage yards in the eastern United States.

Picture of ptomblin

Re: FFZ NDB

The FAA still lists FFZ as active. See http://www.airnav.com/airport/KFFZ and http://www.airnav.com/cgi-bin/navaid-info?type=NDB&id=FFZ&name=FALCON+FIELD for instance.

Picture of ptomblin

Yes it does.

Eurocontrol believes it exists.

Picture of ptomblin

Re: Scams

Just ignore them. There is no real dog, and nothing will come to harm by you ignoring or blocking their attempts to contact you.

Picture of ptomblin

re: re: re: Cameroon Pet Scam

If they ask for money via WU or Moneygram, or they have anything to do with Cameroon, it's a scam. 100% certainty.

Picture of ptomblin

Moved

I moved the marker to 9.6N 5.18333W because that's where the Eurocontrol data has it, but it doesn't look any more like an aerodrome than the previous location. It's important to note, however, that small private airstrips often don't look like anything on the satellite imagery.

Picture of ptomblin

re: Spam?

I've been lazy - normally I clean out the spam every week or so, but I haven't been doing it for a few weeks.

Picture of ptomblin

Yes, it's legit.

The FAA thinks there is an private airstrip here. There are literally thousands of private airstrips in the United States, and many of them don't look like much on Google Maps.

Picture of ptomblin

It looks legitimate, even if it doesn't look like it on the

The FAA has it at this location.

re: New ICAO ID WIMK

Reply to @FLUNKN: I've added the Kuala Namu WIMM airport.

Picture of ptomblin

re: ICAO identifier

Reply to @antongervax: Is it "Howard Airport", or is it "Panama Pacifico" as my Eurocontrol data has it?

re: Distance between 2Airports

That sounds like something Google Maps could do for you.
